Definitely interesting. I can appreciate it for its departure from the genres it straddles-- scifi, noir -- to become the foundation of cyberpunk. Neuromance doesn't wait for you to catch up though. He doesn't hold your hand and introduce you to this new world, he just throws you right in the middle of it and hopes you pick up what you need to know along the way. If you don't like to put in that kind of work, the book is definitely not for you. Lucky for me, I enjoy the feeling of being utterly lost in a foreign place. Great book. It felt less like a neatly tied story and more like randomly being switched into Case's simstim for a while. I enjoyed the book for it's freshness. Never read anything like it before, though I imagine I'll feel a reassuring familiarity when I take on Neal Stephenson's tomes.
