Jillian Logan's past has defined her entire life. As a social worker, she knows she shouldn't let it control her, but it's always easier to say it than to put it to use. Trusting few and closing herself off from relationships, has lead her to being 33 and a virgin.

It's at a friends wedding, which she seems to be apart of many weddings, that she decides to make a small improvement and smile at the gorgeous man walking down the street towards her.

Turns out, he's the missing usher to the wedding Gil Reynolds. Instantly hitting it off, these two pass enjoy the time spent together at the wedding. But the kiss in the parking lot totally sends up Jillian's panic button and she's quick to leave.

Gil knew he should have stayed away from Jillian. The one woman he couldn't have is the one woman he actually wants to get to know.

Gil is the editorial in charge of the most respectable paper and recently okay the story on Jillian brother's Robbie past. Creating a downpour of more media, Robbie has since fled and Gil knows Jillian won't be happy to hear not only that he works there, but is the head. Yet he sees it as a truth story the public deserves to know.

Jillian of course doesn't see it that way and when she learns the truth is steaming mad. Instantly putting a stop to any further encounters they may have had.

But Gil isn't giving up. Now's he's doing a story on the clinic she works in, more especially a piece on her. Shadowing her for a week allows Gil to see the walls around her and want to learn more about her. She fascinates him and soon he can't stop thinking about her.

Trying to get her past their work conflicts, he takes her sailing where once again things start to heat up when she panics and puts the breaks on.

Just as Jillian is convinced by others to let Gil in and learn to trust, Gil is approached at work with the news that Robbie has skipped town. Despite his feelings for Jillian he can't justify not running the story.

Wanting to tell her before the story hits, he invites her over, but isn't allowed to get a word in before Jillian is spilling her inexperience and wanting him to show her what she's been missing.

Who could blame him? Taking her to bed ends up changing his life forever. Instantly he knows she's the one for him. Yet how can he tell her he's running another story on her brother?

Correct again, she's not happy. Screaming insults and the rest of her secret past, she runs out of his condo.

A week later, Robbie is found and Jillian assembles the family to come up with a plan to bring him back. Entering the room, Gil carries his new story about Robbie and fan mail wanting Robbie to come back.

Working out their feelings they board the plan together with her family and go get Robbie.

In Vegas he feels the next step and proposes to her and makes her his bride.
