did not like it

Norse-based fantasy - the kick I am currently on - is not as satisfying as I hoped. I liked the Skaldwulf character and the girl he adopts, but no other characters broke out of the peculiar but cliched take on Viking gender roles or seemed to have any part of whatever the plot was. I knew by the first book, A Companion to Wolves, it would be off-beat, but it was boring. So I did finish, but no recommendation, and I'm pretty iffy on caring what happens next.
