I had a few fits and starts and thought I might never read this book, but glad I finally picked it back up. A heartbreaking/beautiful/tonally very interesting look at the narrator's relationship with her sister and family as a whole. The novel is structured around a series of suicide attempts by the narrator's sister, Elf, and how the narrator grapples with the question of whether she can or should do what Elf is asking of her, which is to help her end her life. There's an odd humor running through the book which is what makes it readable.
