Read 2 times. Last read December 10, 2019 to December 13, 2019.
This is the second book in the Lunar Chronicles main quartet and in a way starts right where Cinder left off.
I say in a way, because this book is as much Scarlet and Wolf's story as it is the continuation of Cinder's (and Kai's). The author splits the narrative between these two stories, and does so in a seamless manner.
And as the story progresses, you get to see how these 2 seemingly unrelated stories connect like 2 puzzle pieces meant to fall in place. Even as you know that there are more puzzle pieces to be found that will unravel in the following books.
And more characters to know and love. Because Meyer does such a fantastic job with her protagonists that you simply cannot help love them all.
So far we have 'met' 5 / 8 protagonists - Cinder, Kai, Scarlet, Wolf, and Thorne - and to know them is to love them. All of them so unique and amazing in their own ways, brought together on a crazy adventure, fighting incredible odds, yet determined to do the right thing.
They are half of the reason why I love to revisit this series every now and then.
