An interesting idea, though can't help thinking it has similarities to so many others. The Zeds were like Zombies and the Tallins were like ordinary people escaping infection, this wasn't the story yet strongly reflected the Zombies theme. The idea of the death month is original, no one survives longer than 19 years of age. I found it an easy book to read, the adventure of finding the Soterion kept me hooked. My favourite character is definitely Taja, she is fiercely beautiful. I feel for Taja because we've all had strong feelings for someone, who doesn't feel the same way, at some point in our lives. Knowing they aren't attracted to you or don't feel the same way you do about them, is painful. I enjoyed this book.
