it was ok

I read and liked this author's other books in the past, so I was especially disappointed by this one. It has a few (very few) good moments, but on the whole not a good historical novel, more like a bad romance novel... A number of WTF-type glaring mistakes (Archbishop Cromwell?), cheesy characters, cheesy dialogue, etc. The dialogue is not just cheesy but ridiculously modern sounding, for instance - when Mary Tudor is acting out in front of her father, Henry VIII, because she doesn't like his new wife, and he is being understanding towards her ("she has been through a lot")... and other psychobabble on his part (WTF?). And so on and so forth. I gave it 2 stars only because I actually finished it. Out of morbid curiosity.
