#readathon17 Ένα βιβλίο που διαδραματίζεται στη Μέση Ανατολή

What a bittersweet joy this was! I had a feeling I was going to love Elif Shafak and I was not wrong. A beautifully written, intricate book, full of history, poetry, and nostalgia. The women characters are amazing, and their stories captivating. The contradictions of modern Istanbul are present throughout the book and as a Greek reading it I could feel a cultural affinity for a lot of things. Getting lost in this book felt like I had traveled far and wide, not only across countries but across decades as well.
