really liked it
bookshelves: cops-military, romantic-suspense, tormented-heroine

My first Erica Spindler novel, and I may become hooked if all her other books are as fantastic as this one!

I have to say I guessed early on who the killer was, and all the aspects that entailed, but it was an awesome ride to the conclusion. The book is long, but it didn't feel that way at all. The Malone family introduced here through our hero Quentin, is one that I hope Ms. Spindler has more books about. I love the whole heroine with a tormented past trope, and this one was especially awful. The trauma Anna had gone through as a child was horrific, and I can't even imagine how she dealt with it on a daily basis. She did a little running and was frightened, but I also found her incredibly strong.

I love finding a new author, and I'm so looking forward to more!
