Poppy longs for a home, since the girls in her group home call her a freak because she sees a girl behind her in the mirror, a girl who leaves her gifts. Marcus hears music no one else can hear. Azumi is simply looking for a boarding school as far from the forest in Japan where her sister disappeared as possible. Dash and Dylan are actors who share a role on a popular TV series. Each of them find their way to Larkspur, each thinking the place will be the answer to their problem. What they find instead is horror: creepy kids wearing masks, rooms that won't let them escape.

I downloaded this audiobook for free on AudioSYNC. The characters weren't terribly complex, and the horror is creepy enough for the age group. There were still quite a few characters with backstories to contend with in such a short story. The fact that there were two sets of twins involved here was suspicious. I wished there had been a little more backstory about the Larkspur house, but there is a second installment that might answer more questions.
