okay Woah, what an insane book! I’m not one for rehashing the plot (that’s what the summary is for on the book description page), but I didn’t expect to be so sucked into this world that Matthew Williams created as I was. I will probably have nightmares! There is so much mystery and intrigue and ‘what the heck is happening here’ that you can’t help but want to keep reading more and more. At first it seems like it may just be a ghost story or a demon possession, but it’s way more than that, and the whole story behind it is very cool and well-thought out. And the way that the author does the characters we just see more and more but then are still surprised. There are many shocking twists and overall I thought the storyline was original and well-written, and the characters are believable, even if some are more fully ‘fleshed out’ than others (excuse the pun). I thought it was a great mix of realistic feeling horror/supernatural/ psychological thriller… some parts may feel unbelievable, you believe in the paranormal then nothing is off limits. The writing is fast-paced and atmospheric –Williams captures the creepy vibe of the setting and his subjects perfectly. I noticed some editing things, but nothing terrible. Thought the ending was great – Eeks! ha! Recommended read for 18+.
