it was amazing
bookshelves: 5-star

Read when I was fourteen and on the couch for a week, coughing all the time and hallucinating intermittently.
The hallucinations ended quickly enough, when my fever finally dropped; the cough hung in there for almost ten years. It still crops up now and then. When the weather changes. Maybe once a week.

In retrospect, it's clear I was seriously ill. Oh, what the fuck ever! -- in retrospect a lot of things are clear --

Read the bit about the image of eternity as a "clear, still pond" over and over until it went into my hallucinations.

Can't separate this book from the experience of reading it.
