I can't believe how different the books are from the television show. I mean, Dan Humphrey was a terrible character in the show. In the books he's an existentialist who smokes and drinks excessive amounts of coffee. My kind of guy, really. And truthfully there isn't enough Chuck Bass in this one.

I honestly didn't know what I was going to expect reading these. I was walking around the YA section of my library (as I normally do three times a week) and the one row was stacked with the Gossip Girl books. So I thought why the hell not, let's see how different from the show they are. In case you were all wondering how different, the answer is completely.

I still loved reading the first book. They are perfect books for guilty pleasure reads. I can already tell I'm going to devour the entire series pretty quickly.
