it was amazing
bookshelves: classics

This book helped me survive six weeks in the Peruvian desert (I was on an archaeological excavation). Though it is incredibly long, it was just what I needed - a well written escape. If you ever think you are going to be trapped in a very boring situation for several weeks, I suggest this book. It can be overwhelming at times and I did skip one of the longer digressions by John Galt, the infamous John Galt who you will never forget after this book, but I still loved it all the same.

“John Galt is Prometheus who changed his mind. After centuries of being torn by vultures in payment for having brought to men the fire of the gods, he broke his chains—and he withdrew his fire—until the day when men withdraw their vultures.”
Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
