The first half of this novel suffers from "repeat offender" syndrome. Enough already, we have been down this plot development path too many times. However, once the journey shifts to Saudi Arabia, as viewed through the eyes of a Muslim woman, it becomes much more interesting. However, I found the ending to be very predictable. Maybe it is time to retire Gabriel.
