it was amazing
bookshelves: fantasy

The Killing Moon further cements my adoration of N.K. Jemisin. As with her 100k Kingdoms trilogy before this, Jemisin does a wonderful job crafting the relationships between her characters. I think Jemisin has even surpassed her previous trilogy when it comes to worldbuilding in this novel; I found the Hetawa and it's impact on the culture of Gujaareh to be fascinating.

One note is that there is a glossary in the back that I wish I'd realized existed when reading the book. Since I don't skip to the end of books at all for fear of inadvertent spoilers, I didn't realize it existed at all. It might have helped me understand nuances a little earlier in the novel.

Overall highly recommended to anyone who appreciates fantasy.
