really liked it

Ages 9 and up. Another notebook-with-illustrations geek story. Because he doesn't give his $12 pen to Chantal, Danny's name gets added to the "Loser List" in the girl's bathroom. What if secret crush Asia sees it? He can't let that happen, and conspires to infiltrate the girl's bathroom to remove it. Of course he's caught, and gets detention. With his worst nightmare, Axl. But he wins Axl's favor when he offers to draw Sharpie tattoos on him and his goons. Soon he's hanging out with the gang, but that gets him in trouble when he visits his favorite comic book store with them--and they steal a $500 collector's copy of Rat Girl. Even worse, his best friend Jasper refuses to talk to him. How can Danny get the comic from Axl, return it to the store, and extricate himself from Axl's gang so Jasper will talk to him again? Will appeal to "Wimpy Kid" fans, and reluctant readers.
