it was ok
bookshelves: series

Having read the first Sookie Stackhouse novel and not hated it, I gave the second one a try. I'd say it gets markedly worse, here. My favorite part? When the house full of vampires is attacked and Sookie stands up and looks around in a panic for Bill? Eric? both? and the author takes the time to describe just how beautifully her blond hair moves in waves around her shoulders. THANKS, CHARLAINE, THAT'S QUALITY RIGHT THERE. The orgy scene was amusing on several levels, none of them good. It's like a Mary Sue/hardcore judgment/crack!fic mashup, with a bizarre and confusingly written climax (har har).

And again, thank goodness HBO has better sense than this author does.
