it was ok
bookshelves: biography-or-memoir, 2008, from-library
Recommended for: people interested in Pakistan and its surrounding areas

Ok, I admit it. I just could not get into this book. I read the first third of it, and basically skimmed through the rest to see what happened but without reading it page by page. It was due back at the library today and I didn't have the fortitude (or desire) to bother renewing it.

I greatly respect what Mortenson did (and is doing, presumably) and he's obviously gone through great hardship to accomplish these things. I just couldn't get into the book.

Steph Thank you! I feel the same way about this book, the only bad thing is I have to read this for school.

Julie Eeeeek. It's hard enough to get people to read fiction for school - I can't imagine having to read something like this.

I think I just have a hard time with most non-fiction. I had the same problem with Word Freak... interesting premise (the world of competitive Scrabble) but I just could not get into the book.

You have my sympathies!
