The quiet almost-prosaic voice of 'Geography' is incredible. I love how she can turn lyrical nature poetry into philosophical introspection. She's best when she gives her poems this space (as in 'Geography'), as opposed to some of the other poems where the lyricism feels overcrowded and lacking variation or weight.

I found out at the end of the book that she had passed away, and that this collection was assembled from bits and pieces of her uncollected writings. Which is sad, but also, it makes me think how much better this collection could have been if she had lived to write it. Many of these pieces felt unfinished or tossed off, yet still the best of these poems are much better than most contemporary poetry being published today.
