really liked it

This is a great summer read. Two sisters raised by a self-centered mother whose lives diverge due to one of them going to live with her father. Claire, who goes to live with her father at an early age, is raised in a loving household and lives a fairly happy life with her father and daughter. Meghan, who had to fend for herself, has been affected by the emotional distance of her mother and the separation of her sister, and is trying to prove herself worthy by becoming a ruthless lawyer. The two women reconcile when Claire becomes engaged and then ill, and their strong family ties are renewed.
