it was ok
bookshelves: mystery

I recently received an email praising Georgette Heyer's books, and her mysteries in particular, so I thought I'd try one. I was disappointed. I've read a lot of mysteries and this one was pretty predictable. The main characters are fairly annoying, too. I think my biggest disappointment is that there is no explanation as to why the murdered man was placed in the stocks, there's only some vague conjecture on the last couple of pages. This book seems like an attempt to merge her romance-genre with a mild murder mystery. Both parts were equally predictable.
