really liked it

This was a fun police/detective novel set mostly in the Florida Keys, which is always a great setting for a story, in my opinion. I'm actually waiting for warmer weather, so I can read the second in the series (Razor Girl) at the beach. As far as the main character (Andrew Yancy) is concerned, the book follows the typical formula for modern detective stories, in that he is absorbed by his job, makes a lot of bad choices in his personal life, and isn't good at following the rules. So in that sense, not terribly original, but detective stories are mostly plot-driven anyway, so not a problem here. The secondary characters are interesting and the book has a nice pace to it, which makes it a quick and fun read.
