A very long book. It's not much different in length from its predecessor, but unlike it this book really drags in places. It could lose up to half its length to no great damage to the plot, which is stretched very thin at times. The dialogue is tinny and there's an awful lot of reading contemporary social attitudes back into 14the century England which stretches credibility. Engaging, but unsure if I'll tackle the next in the series.
