"The Hollows Insider" is an interesting take on the guides to certain literary worlds that are becoming popular. There was a lot of description of species and magic, but told through the guise of a reporter who had the misfortune of being caught in the crossfire of one of Rachel's spells gone wild, causing him to lose his hair. Deciding she is a menace, he begins a quest to get to the bottom of who and what she is, trying everything he can to get her arrested and removed from the streets. Peppered with "evidence" this reporter digs up, as well as "pages" from the newspaper where his articles are printed, the book covers much of the who's who, what's what, and other interesting tidbits about the workings of the Hollows and Cincinnati in this post-Turn world.

I enjoyed much of it, was bored stiff with all the spells and recipes (seriously, when would I ever need to know that?) and laughed out loud at the Witches Weekly installment. Definitely no match for the actual novels, but an interesting interlude for those fans who need something to fill their time waiting for the next Rachel Morgan book to come out.
