really liked it

I'm still reading it... taking a long time. It's not that long but it's dense. It's an account of a Cherokee woman and her progeny, as told in story form, by her grandson. It doesn't have much dialog, so it reads slowly. It follows the Cherokees through the "Trail of Tears" and chronicles the events leading up to the loss of the Black Hills by the Indian nations. It's a tragic story told with an eye for beauty, the beauty of love, of people, of landscapes, of nature. I'm really enjoying it.
