Night Walker was a bit of a surprise to me. Lisa Kessler has created a vampire that isn't really a vampire. I think. I wasn't really sure what the difference was between the two creatures, but I loved Calisto, a Spanish priest turned Night Walker/philanthropist. Really what more can you ask for in a creature of the night? Oh and he's smokin' hot and really sweet.

I love the element of reincarnation that brings Kate into his life. The dreams she has really helps her in grasping her connection to Calisto in the end. A kind of remembrance of her former life, as if their instant attraction isn't enough.

Lisa's writing is sensual and that makes things feel hot when there isn't really a whole lot of sex going on. You just feel the heat of the characters. The pages sizzle with their chemistry.

A few of the characters that really annoyed me were Betty and Jose. Betty you weren't really supposed to like, so she was properly annoying, but Jose just didn't come off right as a villian. He was a monk sent to get rid of Calisto but ended up wanting more. I couldnt quite understand why it took Calisto so long figure out who he was.

A foreshadowing of something sinister to come appears in the epilogue, and let me tell you, it makes me really excited for the next book in this series.
