There is a difference between a fan of Jesus and a follower of Jesus. With scripture, a story and sprinkled with humor, you start to see yourself more of a fan than a follower. We are easily fooled into thinking that we are a follower but instead we are just a fan. We have to be careful with the church that we attend that the church help our quest to be followers not just believers. The message is believe instead of, repent, die to self, surrender, and commitment. Jesus is asking us daily for our commitment. We need to examine our relationship with Christ and follow. It is not a passive relationship of just believing. There is so much to this book. It will leave you conflicted, heart broken, but most important, with hope. I can follow Christ if I leave myself out of the way. I may mess up and I have but I am still in the race. I just have to cross the finish line. I am not just a fan, but I am follower. Lead me on.
