American Ones: Noise and Presentiments
Coolidge's bks seem to be gradually developing away from stanzas into paragraphs as I review them in their chronological publishing order. This one even has each 'chapter' begin w/ a quote from someone else: Wallace Stevens, Nuel Phar Davis, Leon Bix Beiderbecke, Robert Grenier, Franz Kafka, etc.. There's something more 'comfortable' for me about paragraphs instead of stanzas. As if the impossible or implausible is being explained to me impossibly or implausibly.
