it was ok

Well, first half of the book was dreadfully long and painfully boring. Marius is not exactly, unlike Lestat and Louis (and to some extent Armand), what I would call main character material. I do not know if his story was something that needed to be told, to be honest. Yes, one had some questions and curiosity, but I don't feel Rice managed to tell the story in the same fashion as she did Lestat's for instance. It would perhaps have been better if Marius' past had remained a mystery. That said, I must admit the last hundred pages were not half bad. Those pages actually made it worth the read.
