really liked it

It took me FOREVER to finish this. I almost abandoned it, but picked it up over Spring Break. It's difficult to read because this is a childhood that we'd rather not know about.

The second half of the book is most fascinating to me as he shares his perspective on economic/social challenges of the "rust belt" of our country.

He doesn't offer easy answers or blame politicians, but starts a conversation that I hope continues. I'll be thinking about this book for awhile.
