There was some suspense, especially as to whether or not she'd survive at the end, but this wasn't your typical Patterson book. It had some of his trademark detective elements and the usual short chapters that keep the pages flipping, but there was a supernatural element to it that left you empathizing with Kris as she tried to figure out what was real and what wasn't.

Kris keeps dreaming about 4 bodies at a hotel near her work. She sees the bodies wheeled out and then one of the bags unzips, a female hand falling out. The only problem is that no one listens to her when she yells that one of the bodies is alive.

Then she starts getting phone calls from herself and sees her father--or is he?

Plenty of twists and turns, even if you can guess what might happen, there's still a few unanswered questions right up until the last page. A quick read.
