This a beautiful book to read. This illustrations are very colorful and the scenes wonderful. The story is sweet and fits well into our bedtime routine. Merlina and her friend Igor the dragon are preparing their food supplies for the winter months. Poor Igor gets a thorn stuck in his toe and asks Merlina to remove it magically. She makes multiple attempts (my kids like to use their fingers as magic wands along with the words)to help her friend, but the solution for the thorn removal comes in an unlikely way. Both my 3 and almost 6 year olds love this story. An easy to follow story, the wonderful illustrations, gentle humor and an unexpected conclusion. No product placement, just a wonderful little tale to read with your kids. Do note that this text is translated from a different language and a quick "pre-read" may discover an awkward phrase or two which will help delivery before reading aloud.
