really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction

As an Austen fan from childhood, I enjoyed seeing how her fame snowballed, melted, then became the avalanche it is today.

Discovering that Mark Twain loathed her books made me frown at him.

I winced at how many letters were destroyed by her sister and was surprised to discover how little is known about Jane when it comes down to it.

A quick, entertaining, meticulously researched read.
