did not like it
bookshelves: library-copy, mystery

This is the story of five friends who grew up in the same neighborhood but were not social equals. The death of the youngest boy in this group brings the friends back together again. I wasn't pleased with the way the story was told. Usually I have no problem with multiple narrators as it adds so much to the book when the story is from different perspectives. In this case, the telling seems to be by not only the five friends but their parents as well. I never connected with any of the characters as they were mostly petty and selfish and the "big secret" was that supposedly everyone's undoing didn't seem to be that big a deal and found it hard to believe it alone was responsible for the adults they turned into.
