it was amazing

After nearly three years away from the Witcher series, I had forgotten how good Sapkowski is.

A brilliant collection that leads right into the main series. I really just loved every single story, even the one that seemed like a much more minor affair and was almost entirely comedic. Read all 400 pages of this collection in one day, which is something I don't think I've ever done with a collection of any size.

Sapkowski writes dialogue so well and so naturally, and does it to move so many dials forward. Every line is full of character and plot. The stories themselves are just brilliant. He writes scenes so clearly and effectively and with so much poise. It's kind of astonishing to read him.

But, yeah, jumping back into the main series to reread the first three novels, then dive into the rest, now that they're finally translated.
