Good Reads Book Review:
Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs
I decided to read this book after I saw the movie, this was probably a big mistake, for I was able to predict almost everything that happened through out the book. Running with Scissors was an autobiographical tale of a young boy who was sent to live with his mothers therapist, while his mother slowly went insane. The story was an interesting portrayal of human relationships, and altogether corky people. Aside from the movie detracting from my enjoyment of the book in terms of exciting plot points, It was a fun read. The book was able to keep my attention partially because there was a large amount of gruesome/explicate scenes. I have to say that the book flowed nicely, and I felt as a sort of comradery with the main character. All together this was not an amazing piece of literature, but I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a laugh or to be quite honest anyone who is looking to gag.
