I love James Patterson's mission of getting kids excited about books, so I brought a copy of his latest to a family vacation with my six nephews and nieces in the hopes it would appeal to at least one of them. I read it first, and they would ask me what it was about: a 6th grader who decides to break every rule at his school. Good stuff, right? Rafe's exploits are illustrated by his only friend, Leo (yep, yet another book trying to cash in on the wildly successful Diary of a Wimpy Kid format). My nephew Brendan, who is going into 6th grade, was the first to pick up the book and he liked it! There's humor and heart - Rafe has a personal rule that no one gets hurt by his rule-breaking - and I'm glad he read it. He especially liked the Halloween scene. Hooray Patterson!
