What was beautifully descriptive book.. and a lovely story too.
Jillian Sherwood is an archeologist who is in search of a good historical find. Since her father disappeared after searching for one of his mythical cities Anzar, she's been working in small finds. When yet another job foundation rejects her credentials just because of her family name- she finds herself going through her dad's old books- only to find clues.
Soon she's on an expedition with her estranged and hateful brother Rick and conman Kates who finances it.
They hire their "guide" Ben, who lives for pleasures of the flesh during the day- but is a slick forager of the forest and river by the night.
As they move deeper into the journey with a couple of other men; sparks fly between the main couple , loads of adventures are experienced, cities are discovered and people are exposed.
I absolutely loved the description of the forests, the lakes and the whole voyage. You can practically feel yourself with them- and since I love Amazon and all things forest-y- this was just a wonderful literary experience.
Jill and Ben were a wonderful couple. I enjoyed their banter and their eventual chemistry.
Kudos to the super hot love scenes in the rain and especially to the one after she runs away.. SMOKIN!!
Really enjoyed this read
