I think my expectations were higher than the book could deliver. It was an interesting journey, following Ewen McGregor and Charley Boorman as the drove their motorcycles from London, eastward to New York City. They definitely travelled to the hinterland and beyond. But ultimately, for me, it was just an ok story, no real tension, no real humour. I imagine the documentary was better as you could actually see what they had gone through. I get the impression, it was a book that was an afterthought from the documentary. Anyway, interesting, but not great.
