This book was more interesting in that it allowed others a glimpse of what it could have been like to live as a woman in China back in the days. I didn't really like the ending and it wasn't as 'unforgettable' in terms of the story itself. What made it unforgettable was the insight into the culture. I think it was much more valuable in that it piqued readers' interest into a 'hidden' world of womenkind and their roles and ranks in Chinese history.
