Collins' research team does a fine job researching which companies went truly from good to great and the principles that got them there. But for some reason it was hard to buy everything he said when the companies included now-bankrupt Circuit City and much-aligned lender Fannie Mae. Yes, this was was published in 2001 but if 2 of the companies he highlights are gone or severely struggling 8-9 years later where they ever truly "great?"
