Another trip with Dexter and his Dark Passenger. I think the style of the books has changed subtly since the first volume that I read. You are still very much inside Dexter's head (not a pleasant place to be) but the scenario is now wider involving more characters including his new wife and step children. The Dark Passenger, although still very much a part of Dexter's psyche, has over the last two novels been a little less dominating and if it were at all possible one might say that Dexter was becoming a tiny bit more human. Maybe the fact that he now has two mini me contenders in Astor and Cody give him the opportunity to release some of his dark energy in tutoring them on how to become the best at what they are destined to do! I am interested to see how things pan out for the Morgan family over the next few books and whether the strain of being 'normal' will all prove too much for Dexter.
