did not like it

This book was something I looked forward to reading and then I was totally bored and disgusted with it. What frustrated me the most is how he would take an opinion or outright incorrect statement such as Pagans worship trees (way way way out of context and incorrect) and then use that false statement to support his arguments. That is basic logic 101 class and made most of his arguments invalid. I wanted to like what he was saying but couldnt because he was just down right incorrect in so much.

Amanda The Posh Geek Pagans worshiped different things .. At different times .. http://www.controverscial.com/In%20Wo...

As an example

Grace but wouldn't that include trees? I'm not being smart I've just never heard someone argue that pagan beliefs don't include tree worship (in some form or another) before. :)

Terri It is not a matter of including tree worship - he pretty much says that is their focus. Trees were a PART of pagan worship but their true focus was the universal force in every living thing. Very different.

Grace Ahh ok :) Thanks for clearing that up! I don't remember that bit, I'll have to find it and reconsider.

Brendan Howard Man. This kind of arguing is going to bug me too. He makes some arguments whose logic I didn't agree with in _Mere Christianity_, and I couldn't continue reading the book.
