it was ok
bookshelves: started-but-didn-t-finish

I really wanted to like this book, but I only got about a third of the way through before I started thinking of reading it as a chore. The Hawaiian history is interesting, but a book with no organization or structure just doesn't hold my interest, I guess. Who writes a 230-page book without chapters? A rambling, unstructured memoir, maybe, but not the history of an island.
