it was amazing

Just re-read the Hobbit after seeing the second Peter Jackson movie. Tolkien has an ability to weave a tale of adventure like no one else I have read. I suppose it is because little Bilbo feels so insignificant, but discovers that he can add something to world of the mighty and powerful. It gives hope to us that we play our own part in the adventure. I had forgotten what a strong theme avarice plays in Tolkien's writing. Perhaps a good word for us in America who long more than anything for the rivers to flow with gold.
