A beautiful and elegant examination of the prototypical superhero blended knowingly into the story of one less than ideal man. Seagle, drawing richly from his own life, explores what is both so enriching about Superman/Clark Kent and so frustrating about being human. His examination into family, friends, loved ones, and even the acquaintances and strangers of his life is touching and alarming. Few comics (and I use the term knowingly) are so capable of saying so much with so few words. Kristiansen is able to serenely articulate the distance, humility, and affection needed for such a story through just a few simple but intentional lines and light dabs of color. I agree with the various comments from reviewers that this is unlike any Superman story one is likely to encounter and well worth uncovering.
