I had read that this book was about a narcissistic woman's journey to three places: Italy, India, and Indonesia. I didn't find the author to be a narcissist but I do think she is white, middle-class, and fairly well off. It's not everyone who can stay for months in various cities across the globe without having to work.

That being said, I enjoyed much of Gilbert's explorations into her own character and into the lives and geography of the places she visited. Her spiritual journey was a bit boring to me at times but one certainly cannot accuse her of giving up her search for faith. Her ability to make friends of all ages and nationalities is inspiring.

I look forward to reading more about her love affair with the charming Felipe.
