I found the writing style and dialogue a tad awkward. It felt very surface level and the point of view constantly switched making it all feel extremely clunky. I also didn't like Emily a few times - she was rude to other females.

In saying that, this did suck me in and I was intrigued by the slow burn romance and sexual tension. I like a good romance that has all of those "I'm desperate for you" emotions.

But this felt way too "unpolished" for me to rate it at anything more than 3 stars. It was entertaining though, in a soap opera sort of way. I skimmed most of the last quarter. I wouldn't usually read the second in the series when I rate the first so low, but holy cliffhanger. I'll skim it to get some closure.
