I actually really enjoyed this! I didn't know what to expect going in, and I think lacking any concrete expectations worked in my favour -- I enjoyed the ride, thought it was a splendid adventure, and look forward to where McKinney will take the series next.

- Follows Alice, a Black teen who is a Dreamwalker - a human who slays wicked beings from Wonderland who feeds on negative emotions.
- I really loved this because it's not only about Alice's adventures in Wonderland, but it's also about being a teen and the responsibility of being a hero whilst also being a daughter, a student, a friend, and... just a teen. I really appreciated that.
- I thought the characters were wonderful, and liked seeing the complex relationship between daughter and mother, as well as the close friendship between two girls.
- This was just a lot of fun! I can't wait to read the sequel come September. 💛
